Wright Library, with support from the Oakwood Sister City Association, is fortunate again this year to receive several crèches for display during the month of December. The crèches are on loan from the University of Dayton's Marian Library - International Marian Research Institute, whose collection includes thousands of nativities reflecting a variety of customs and traditions.
Join Mrs. Mills and the American Red Cross in thanking our military for their service!
Using supplies in the Children's Room, Friday, November 29 - Sunday, December 1, you can write a card or draw a picture to military personnel, their families, and veterans. Place your completed card or picture in the "Holiday Mail for Heroes" basket by December 1, and Mrs. Mills will ensure delivery before Christmas.
With the holidays are over you may find yourself with a new tablet (or other mobile device) that you want to make use of.
Wright Library offers several digital content services that provide free content for your mobile device. Join us Saturday, January 4th, at 1:30 p.m. for a demonstration of the various services.
Ed Davis will read from his new book of poems Time of the Light (Main Street Rag, 2013). Davis says the book “represents what I feel is my best effort to follow my muse down many meandering country roads and forest paths, from West Virginia coalfields to Ohio cornfields. Birds, boots, blues and banjoes—there’s even healing dirt, plus many of the kindred spirits, living and dead, who’ve made my journey always interesting and often luminous.” Books will be for sale with author signing following the reading.
