Wright Library Welcomes New Director
Lu Ann Stanley, President of the Board of Trustees at Wright Memorial Public Library, is pleased to announce that Travis Bautz has been selected as the library’s new Director.
“The Board was very impressed with Travis. We and the staff are eager to have him join the library,” said Mrs. Stanley. She added that the pool included 32 applicants, many from outside the state.
Travis Bautz has served as a Head Librarian with the Greene County Public Library (Beavercreek and Xenia locations) since January 2009. He was Director of the Charles and Renate Frydman Educational Resource Center at Wright State University before going to Greene County. He also served as the Adult Services and Audiovisual Division Manager at the Dayton Metro Library and as a Branch Manager at the Memphis/Shelby County Public Library in Memphis, Tennessee. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in education from The Ohio State University and his master’s degree in library and information science from Kent State University.
Travis is married to Kimberly Bautz (a Children’s Librarian at the Dayton Metro Library) and they have two children. They are avid readers and sports fans, following their beloved Buckeyes through good times and bad.
Please help us in welcoming Travis to Wright Library.
